Announcement from Niigata University
Applications are now open for 2026 Japanese government (MEXT) scholarship for “Japanese Studies Students” (Recommendation by NU).
Please carefully check the attached application guidelines deadline is 31 March 2026.
– Japanese Language Ability:
Applicants must be fluent in Japanese, satisfying either of the following conditions.
� Applicants who have passed the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Level N2 or higher presently or by the time of enrollment in NU.
� Applicants that Niigata University can determine as possessing Japanese language proficiency equivalent to the criteria � or higher.
– Intended Study Period:
October 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027
-Scholarship Benefit
・Allowance: After arrival in Japan, 117,000 yen per month will be paid.
・Traveling expenses
– Airfare for a round trip to and from Japan (must depart from, and return to, home country)
・Fees for the entrance examination, admission, and tuition at Niigata University will be paid by Niigata University.
