Türkiye is situated between 36° and 42° North latitudes and 26° and 45° East longitudes. It roughly resembles a rectangle and spans approximately 1,660 kilometers in width. Including lakes and islands, the total land area of Türkiye is 814,578 km². The country’s coastline stretches over 7,200 kilometers.

Based on climate characteristics, agricultural conditions, and the distribution of cultivated plants, Türkiye is divided into seven geographical regions:

  • Marmara Region

  • Mediterranean Region

  • Aegean Region

  • Central Anatolia Region

  • Black Sea Region

  • Southeastern Anatolia Region

  • Eastern Anatolia Region.
